April Volunteer of the Month: Workday Leader Ojan Mobedshahi
/Like many commuters, Ojan Mobedshahi would pass by Prusch Park on his way to work everyday until one day he decided to stop on by Veggielution for a tour and some information. Two months later after participating in a Saturday workday in October of 2012, Ojan was hooked to Veggielution. Ojan bringing his enthusiasm and kind heart to his role as Workday Leader. Whether he is leading a planting, or supervising a weeding project, Ojan gives extra attention to all the volunteers he works with, making sure they feel included into the Veggielution family. With all the positivity Ojan brings, he has been able to make a number of great friendships that go beyond the fields of Veggielution.
Ojan is a Project Manager at the California Native Garden Foundation, installing demonstration aquaponic systems at schools and other locations, with the goal of promoting efficient food production technology to the people of San Jose. With a previous background in economics, Ojan hopes to help make gardens more economically sustainable for everyone.
