We Grow Better Together
/Dear Veggielutionary,
Today is a big day for Veggielution! We’ve received generous matching grants totaling $48,000. We need your help to unlock those funds to support our community engagement and educational programs.
If you’ve been to the farm on a First Saturday recently, you’ve caught a whiff of the amazing dishes being cooked up during Veggielution Cocina, our Spanish-language community cooking classes. In June we’ll begin work on a visioning and conceptual design process for Eastside Grange, to transform our farm’s rustic kitchen into a culinary centerpiece that celebrates East San José through economic development, cross-cultural exchange and shared learning opportunities at Emma Prusch Farm Park.
Your donation of $100 will sponsor a Veggielution Cocina class participant.
You may already know about our flagship programs, the Veggielution Youth Garden, Farm Stand and Farm Box. But have you heard that this Fall we’ll be starting Eastside Explorers, a new middle school field trip program incorporating farm-based and nutrition education?
Your gift of $250 will provide a field trip scholarship for an East San Jose middle school class.
Since Veggielution was founded in 2008, we have grown year by year on this historical and previously underutilized land at Emma Prusch Farm Park to become a thriving 6-acre urban farm in East San Jose, the culturally-rich and community-centered neighborhood that Veggielution proudly calls home. With your help, Veggielution will continue cultivating this historical space where we unite thousands of community members each year across income levels, cultures, and generations.
Changing the food system is hard work. We cannot do it without you!
Sincerely,
Cayce
