Veggielution strawberries are here!!! (NOT an April Fool's joke)
/Hi everyone,
I hope you're enjoying this week's lovely weather, and that you'll be able to make it out to the farm tomorrow for FirstSaturday! Last month's First Saturday was a huge success, even with the cold, rainy weather, and we have a great lineup of programming for tomorrow. Please check out our website HERE for the full list of events. In addition to all the exciting things we have planned for First Saturday, we'll also have leeks and strawberries for sale at the Farm Stand for the first time this season. After about 4 months off, our strawberries are back in action, so get pumped! :)
This week we made great headway on our spring orchard work, finishing up composting and mulching all the trees in the back orchard, and continuing to thin fruit. Tomorrow we will have a crew continuing this work on our front orchard trees (primarily apples) to get them in shape for the growing season. We also invested some time this week tackling the forest of weeds growing in the mulched area between the MidAcre and the packing shed, so the front of the farm looks nice and cleaned up now!
We hope you join us out on the farm tomorrow for First Saturday, and I'll be staffing the Farm Stand so come say hi! Also, if you're still waiting to sign up for your spot in the 2016 Farm Box, now's the time! The shares are filling quickly so please make sure to secure your spot. Info and registration links for the LOW COST and FULL COST shares are on our website.
