Professional Development Programming

Eastside Grange

Eastside Grange, an urban community food hub connects San José urban ag and food entrepreneurs with resources to aggregate, process and distribute local produce and value-added goods. Modeled as a 21st century grange, a historical term for a country house with farm buildings, Eastside Grange will feature a Farm Stand, cold and dry storage, and a commercial kitchen incubator and work space at the historic City of San José Emma Prusch Farm Park. In partnership with key community stakeholders we will design a diverse roster of technical assistance and micro-enterprise programs to support and complement the food hub infrastructure.

Mayfair Grown

Through our new Mayfair Grown Program, Veggielution will offer six-month paid fellowships to a total of 12 low-income East San Jose residents at Emma Prusch Farm Park. This program is part of an exciting collaborative effort between Somos Mayfair, Amigos de Guadalupe, Grail Family Services and The School of Arts & Culture to build local talent pipelines and strengthen communities in East San Jose. Veggielution’s participation in the collaboration will focus on local food system entrepreneurship and business-skills training through classroom and hands-on experience at our Farm Stand.
