Summer Farm Box 2017
Want to join our CSA?
Veggielution’s Farm Box program follows a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model, prioritizing a strong, direct connection between you, the customer, and us, the farmers. Our Farm Box members register for the full season and pick up their share of produce every week from June through November. We offer low cost shares to members who live in 95116 and 95122 or who qualify for food stamps.
Each week you’ll receive a variety of fresh produce grown organically right here at Veggielution, experiencing first hand the rhythm of the San Jose growing season. A membership in our Farm Box CSA is a commitment to the farm and an opportunity to connect with your farmers and the broader Veggielution community. We hope you’ll join us in 2017!
Registration for the 2017 Farm Box will open on CSA Day, February 24th. Please add your name to our waiting list to receive a notification when registration opens. For more information, please email us at email@example.com
All offsite farm boxes will be delivered by Cowgirl Bike Courier!
We like to call it the "1st ever 100% carbon-free delivered farm boxes"
Farm Box add-ons
In partnership with 2nd Story Bakeshop, located in downtown San Jose, we are offering a bread add-on with our Farm Box this year. 2nd Story Bakeshop co-owners Christy and Cailin share a passion for organic ingredients sourced as locally as possible. They are excited to be located in the Valley of Heart's Delight, and with their recently-opened storefront in downtown, are working hard to become an integral part of the local sustainable food economy. Veggielution is excited to offer a selection of 2nd Story's organic, hearth-baked breads as an add-on to our veggie Farm Box. For just under $7 per week, you will receive a loaf of fresh-baked bread at each of your pick-ups. The type of bread will rotate between 2nd Story's signature Baker's Loaf, the Rosemary and Sea Salt, and the Whole Wheat and Sprouted Sunflower Seed.

WHAT DO I GET IN MY FARM BOX?
For $25 a week, you will receive a box of diverse, seasonal veggies. Vegetable selection may include:
Summer Vegetables: Italian and Cinnamon Basil, Green Beans, Cantaloupe, Chayote, Sweet Corn, Slicing and Lemon Cucumbers, Asian and Italian Eggplant, Muskmelon, Nopales, Sweet and Hot Peppers, Summer Squash, Tomatillos, Heirloom and Cherry Tomatoes, and Watermelon.
Year-round Vegetables: Beets, Cabbage, Carrots, Cilantro, Collard Greens, Kale, Garlic, Onions, Potatoes, Radishes, and Green Onions.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You can choose to come to a “market-style” pick-up at our Farm Stand where you’ll pack your own share, pick up a box off-site, or have your box delivered.
If you pick up at the farm, there will be a list of what's included in the week's share to guide you as you assemble your box. Some items will be pre-bunched and others you will weigh out on provided scales. Each week there are typically opportunities for you to choose between a few items (e.g. cucumbers or summer squash; basil or cilantro).
If you decide to pick up at one of our off-site locations or have your box delivered (note: delivery fee will apply), you will receive a box packed with a mix of the vegetables we are harvesting that week. The weight and variety of produce in your Farm Box will vary depending on the season and what we have available.
DO I GET THE SAME AMOUNT AND VARIETY OF FOOD EVERY WEEK?
The weight and variety of produce in your Farm Box will vary depending on the season and what we have available. You can expect between 7-10 different items each week, and we always do our best to ensure a balanced variety throughout the season.
WHAT IF I GO ON VACATION, OR I'M UNABLE TO PICK UP MY FARM BOX?
If you know you will be out of town, you are welcome to arrange for a friend or family member to pick up your box for you. If you cannot come on your designated pick-up day or would like to get your box on another pick-up day, we ask that you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org at least one week in advance. If you do not notify us ahead of time and do not come on your designated day, we will donate your box. We cannot offer refunds on forgotten or unwanted boxes.
