What is Eastside Explorers?

Eastside Explorers is a field trip program at Veggielution designed for middle school students. We are partnering with East San Jose´ schools to offer hands-on, experiential activities which will enhance student learning experiences while supporting Common Core and NextGen Science Standards.

Program Staff

Jennifer Aguilar - Youth Program Manager & Eastside Explorers Lead

Jennifer is a San Jose native. In 2014, she was introduced to Veggielution as a drop-in volunteer and eventually progressed into more committed roles as an Education Intern and Workday Leader. Jennifer recently graduated from San Jose State University with a BA in Social Science and a minor in Nutrition & Food Science. Her studies were primarily focused on community and social change, which she feels helped stir up a passion to support Veggielution's mission in East San Jose. She is excited to have the privilege of caring for the Youth Garden, as well as maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere for children and families to explore while learning about organic gardening, nutrition, sustainability, and building community.
