Veggielution, in partnership with 18 Reasons, is proud to offer Cooking Matters, a free, six-week long course in cooking and nutrition.
These weekly classes are currently offered in Spanish, and focus on connecting families with healthy food on a limited budget. During each two hour class, participants first learn about basic nutrition principles, and then prepare a tasty, healthy meal. At the end of each class, participants take home fresh produce to prepare similar recipes with their families.
Upon graduating, participants can volunteer their time and new expertise to become Promotores. Promotores are community leaders that teach our Cooking Matters courses, promoting healthy lifestyles in their communities.
