About Bounty of Heart's Delight

Our annual farm dinner, Bounty of Heart’s Delight, is one of the South Bay’s premier gourmet dining events. Guests are treated to a multi-course feast of dishes prepared by a local chef with produce from Veggielution. After dinner, kick up your heels to live music under the stars. All proceeds benefit Veggielution's farm operations and educational programs.

Menu

Chef Matthias Froeschl of Naschmarkt in Campbell will be using the very best produce from Veggielution, as well as other gourmet ingredients, beer and wine from local producers.

Soup

Chilled Cucumber Soup:  Featuring cucumber, avocado and yogurt

Salad

Seasonal Summer Salad: Heirloom tomato and watermelon salad with basil, shaved red onion, toasted sunflower seeds and lime honey vinaigrette.

Main Course

Grilled Local Fish: Fish with Austrian potato salad, roasted beets, leeks, pistachios, Navarro Farm goat cheese and fresh horseradish.

Dessert

Farm Fresh Fruit: Brown sugar braised peaches with lemon thyme streussel and whipped crème fraîche.


About the Chef

Matthias Froeschl

This year's Bounty chef was born in Linz, Austria and worked his way up through the Austrian culinary system, starting his apprenticeships at 15 and simultaneously studying at culinary school. After three years, he passed his final exams and was certified as a chef. He worked at Steirereck Restaurant in Vienna, named number 15 on the 2015 list of ‘Top 50 Restaurants in the World’.

Chef Matthias and his wife Margaux moved to California in 2011. This is when the couple teamed up with a family friend to open Naschmarkt. Located in historic downtown Campbell. The restaurant is named after the largest open air produce market in Vienna, Austria. Austria’s history and geography influence much of its cuisine, and Chef Matthias will bring this unique cuisine to this year's Bounty of Hearts Delight dinner!

Directions

We will be hosting this year’s dinner at the farm. The Veggielution Farm is located at Emma Prusch Park in San Jose. Enter through the main park gate on King Rd. The gate is directly across from Lido Rd. Go down the long driveway to the main parking lot. The lot continues into a narrow parking lot, and there will be signs pointing you back to Veggielution. Enter through the large gate, you’ve made it!
